Well, IndyCar fans, there are only 3 races left in this season and all are on ovals, thank goodness. :) I cant belive how fast this season has went. We have 3 contenders for this year's championship.. Ryan Briscoe, Dario Franchitti, and Scott Dixon. The points breakdown for them is..
1. Ryan Briscoe 497
2. Dario Franchitti 493 -4
3. Scott Dixon 477 -20
This is one tight, exciting race for the championship. The season finale is at Homestead-Miami Speedway this year and I am thinking it will definitely come down to this final race. The top 3 places have swapped about every week since it is so close. Just before Sonoma, Dario was 21 points behind and in 3rd place, now he is only 4 points behind in 2nd place. It changes quick and often.
The race venues left are Chicagoland Speedway, Twin Ring Motegi(Japan), and Homestead-Miami Speedway. I love the ovals and it will be exciting to see the battle for this championship. It's so crucial that these next 3 races be perfect for these top 3 drivers. I also feel the 3 extra bonus points a driver can get for winning the pole position and leading the most laps will be a factor in deciding the champion.
My pick to win the championship.... Ryan Briscoe. This guy is so consistent.
So, who do you guys think will win this year's championship ? Any thoughts on the championship ?
