I must say I am greatly disappointed in this schedule. First off, we were told 18 races, I was hoping for 20 but we end up with only 17 again. So, that isnt good right off the bat. Next, we lose 2 great oval tracks, Milwaukee and Richmond. After dropping 2 great oval tracks, we pick up 2 road/street courses and one of them is out of the country!!! Im not happy about that. Nothing against the tracks themselves, I mean Barber is a cool looking track but I wanted more ovals.
I was hoping to keep all the current oval tracks on the 2009 schedule and pick up some new, great oval tracks. I want them to bring back Michigan International Speedway. One great track. I also wanted to see Phoenix, Las Vegas, and New Hamphshire on the schedule. As you can tell, I prefer the ovals when it comes to racing. With the new aero packages and options available for the drivers and teams, it would be nice to see more ovals on the schedule and see some good side-by-side racing and exciting passing again.
I think they got only one thing right on this schedule and that is they have almost 2 weeks off after the Indianapolis 500. This should of happened a long time ago. I mean, the whole month of May for one race is tough on the drivers and teams and after it is over, you run to Milwaukee to race again in a few days. The extra time off is needed for teams to rest and for the winner of the Indy 500 to have more time to enjoy his victory.
Well, there you have it. That is my thoughts on the schedule. What do you guys think ?

Well, there were a couple date changes for the 2010 schedule already. The new dates for the races are..
Twin Ring Motegi (Japan) - Sept. 19th
Texas, June 5th. Kentucky was confirmed for Sept. 4th.
Well, so much for them getting the one thing right on this schedule and that was the extra time off after the Indy 500. Now they are back to less than a week and racing again in Texas. Now there is nothing on this schedule that I am too happy with.
